The past two months I’ve been following prompt lists (such as Inktober and Stilltober), to sketch out some ideas, and then turning a selection of my favorite drawings into a finished booklet. If you are just catching up you ca have a peek at the projects here - October and November.
In December I am using the Witchy Yuletide prompt list from Vanessa Oliver-Lloyd (@DansMonCrane on instagram) as drawing inspiration.
This week I got started with the drawings. I am aiming to finish up a few sketchbooks that very close to being filled up. These drawings are in a composition notebook I’ve been using this year for random drawings and collages. I gesso the pages lightly to give it some tooth for the pencil. Still the pages don’t take the wet media well. Watercolor in the first image is not great, acrylic in the second is better, and I used pencils and markers for the last image.

These apple picking drawings are from images that Emma Carlisle shared on her Patreon in November. I like how the middle one looks like an offering.
I drew some foxes in November (original images from Emma Carlise’s Patreon), and was thinking of these creatures as the unexpected guests prompt. Including a house with a cozy fire and tree sketch to round out these prompts.

On the theme of drawing more, here are some local goats. These guys could also be included in my December project, maybe they are the unexpected guests.

The goats are drawn in a better quality sketchbook - the paper makes a huge difference!

Thinking about another sweet zine for this month’s project. I hope you will follow along to see how it progresses!
